Step 5: Competency Exams
At Alabaster MSO, provider education, training, and competency verification are essential components of maintaining safe, consistent, and high-quality patient care.
All providers performing services through Alabaster are required to complete competency evaluations prior to performing applicable treatments independently. These evaluations are designed to confirm understanding of treatment protocols, safety standards, documentation requirements, emergency response procedures, and Alabaster’s clinical expectations.
Providers should expect competency evaluations to include both foundational and advanced clinical knowledge related to the services they are authorized to perform. Evaluations may include scenario-based questions, treatment-specific knowledge, safety considerations, complication management, patient assessment, and documentation standards.
These evaluations are not intended to replace formal education, licensure requirements, or clinical experience. Rather, they serve as a quality assurance process to ensure all providers practicing within the network are aligned with established protocols and patient care standards.
It is the provider’s responsibility to review all materials and demonstrate competency before performing services.
Completion and successful passing of required competency evaluations are required before treatment authorization is granted.
Step 6: SOPs & Contracts
Once approved, you’ll receive customized documentation, including:
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Management and compliance agreements
Supervising/Collaborating Provider Agreements (SPAs, if applicable)
